Every workplace representative and member is affiliated with a local SOMWU branch, which, in turn, is part of a regional grouping.

In situations where SOMWU members encounter workplace challenges, we encourage them to initially reach out to their representative. These representatives can assist individual members by facilitating discussions with employers about their concerns.

Reps may arrange for members to receive support from within SOMWU or collaborate with them to access necessary information and assistance.

Subsequently, the steward or representative will offer guidance on addressing the issue, which may involve engaging with the employer if required.
