Dodoma, Tanzania – 19 September 2026: The President of the Somali Municipal and Public Works Union (SOMWU), Mohamed Osman Haji, is attending the 10th National Congress of the Tanzania Local Government Workers’ Union (TALGWU) in Dodoma.
President Mohamed Osman Haji has already delivered his speech at the Congress, conveying greetings of solidarity from Somali municipal and public service workers and emphasizing the importance of trade union solidarity, decent work, workers’ rights, social dialogue, and cooperation between Somali and Tanzanian trade unions.
His participation and address reflect SOMWU’s commitment to strengthening international trade union cooperation and exchanging experiences with public service workers’ organizations across Africa.
SOMWU congratulates TALGWU on its 10th National Congress and looks forward to further strengthening cooperation and solidarity between the two unions.
